Act withdraws tear gas from use and retires it from all divisions and cohorts of the Army/Legion that previously used it. It adds ballistic shields to the standard gear set for Police, Gendermeric and Guard, and allows riot shields as a less protective alternative if ballistic shields are judged too much for those units.

The stated purpose is to increase defensive deterrence and survivability against raiders, to protect VIPs, and to remove an unpopular tool that has been abused and caused collateral harm to Octavians in areas where it was used.

The provisions therefore bind the Army/Legion divisions and cohorts that used tear gas and the Police, Gendermeric and Guard for equipment changes. The Act states it cannot readily be enforced by punishing individuals and takes effect immediately upon passage unless otherwise specified.

PREAMBLE: WHEREAS, The current distribution of Tear Gas for Police and Gendarmerie cohorts have proven to not be used, and as far as the record shows causes others Octavians being hurt from it even though that was not done on purpose. Additionally Gendermeric were seen abusing it before in history. WHEREAS, Removing tear gas from both cohorts will ensure no more abuse or collateral consequences being seen during raiders raiding. WHEREAS, Adding an alternative, would help increase survivability against raiders. PURPOSE: The purpose of this act is increasing the defensive deterrence of the Imperium of Octavium against raiders by giving them the means to protect themselves while being actively fired at, this also includes retiring an unpopular and useless tool that has been abused with collateral of affecting Octavians in the area of its use. This would also be used to protect VIP's and increase their security. PROVISIONS: (a) Retirement of tear gas from all divisions and cohorts of Army/Legion if they were using them before. (b) Addition of Ballistic Shield into the gearset for Police, Gendermeric and Guard. (i) If Ballistic Shields would be considered too much for provided divisions/cohorts, then Riot Shields would be another alternative, while not providing as much protection; would still be effective and sufficient for their duties and cannot be "abused." ENFORCEMENT: This bill cannot exactly be enforced in a way that someone would get punished. This Act shall take effect immediately upon passage, unless otherwise stated herein.
